Prayer for a renewed
respect for all life
O God, create in us a heart
that abhors injustice. For the thousands of sick, elderly,
and preborn killed each day, give us voices to speak
and an audience to listen. Soften the hearts of this
callous people that cares more for its pets than for
its children and parents. May the crimes of abortion,
euthanasia, contraception, and embryo destruction be
abolished.
For the doctors, nurses,
pharmacists, and scientists, grant that we be privileged
to look upon them as Christ would, hanging from the
cross. Let us feel his compassion as he prayed to you,
Father, to "forgive them, for they know not what
they do." We ask through the same Jesus Christ,
Our Lord. Amen.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
Blessed Mary, our Mother, we covet your
prayers for all of your children, born and preborn,
faithful and apostate. As the mouth of the beast gapes
wide to swallow your charges, gain of your Son the graces
we desire, without which we will surely perish.
Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
Our Lady of Consolation,
Our Lady, Deliverer from All Wrath,
Our Lady, Help of Christians,
Our Lady of Mercy,
Our Lady of Perpetual Help,
Our Lady of Tears,
Our Lady of Guadalupe,
Our Lady of Czetochowa,
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Mother Inviolate,
Queen of Heaven and Earth,
Queen of Angels and Saints,
We pray, O God, that the grace and peace
of Thy Holy Spirit rest upon the victims of the looming
Culture of Death. Protect, we pray, the precious children
in danger of being treated as rubbish, destroyed and
thrown away. Protect, we pray, the sick and the elderly
in danger of death at the hands of those who have withdrawn
their love. For these victims, and for those around
them, we pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.
St Peter, pray for us.
St Jude,
St Joseph,
Holy Innocents,
St Gerard,
St Anthony,
St Margaret of Antioch,
St Ulric of Augsburg,
St Elizabeth,
St Agatha,
St Anne,
St Joachim,
St Gianna Beretta Molla,
St Stephen,
All you holy martyrs,
We pray, Lord, for all physicians and
pharmacists, that they may rend their hearts unto You,
submitting their consciences to Your Holy Will. May
they do what is right according to Your glorious revelation,
respecting and protecting the sanctity of human life.
For these men and women we pray to the Lord. Lord, hear
our prayer.
St Luke, pray for us.
St Raphael the Archangel,
St Panteleon,
Sts Cosmas and Damian,
St James the Greater,
St James the Lesser,
St Mary Magdalene
St Gemma Galgani,
St Nicholas of Myra,
That we may be convicted of our own
responsibility, we pray to the Lord, Lord, hear our
prayer.
That we may never cease praying for the preborn, the
elderly, infirmed and the sterile, we pray to the Lord,
That we may be blessed to experience the love of Christ
for those whom we pray, we pray to the Lord,
That we may feel greater compassion for sinners like
us, we pray to the Lord,
That we may have the courage to speak up, we pray to
the Lord,
That we may have the courage to fight, we pray to the
Lord,
That we may rely not on our own efforts, but entrust
all things to Christ Our Lord through the Immaculate
Heart of Mary, we pray to the Lord,
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins
of the world, spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, graciously
hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have
mercy on us.
Let us pray.
We beseech Thee have mercy, O Lord,
upon our twisted culture. A world in which Herod, who
slew the Holy Innocents, has become an insatiable beast,
a life-destroying machine, needs nothing more than for
Thee, Almighty God, to stay Thy Righteous Hand of Justice.
Convert the hearts, Dear Lord, of sinners far and nigh.
Fill us and our neighbors with pure disgust and holy
rage, that we might be shaken from complacency and defend
the innocent. Bless us not with material, O Lord, but
with purity of heart and strength of resolve. It is
with greatness of faith and humility of heart that we
pray, in unison with Christ Jesus, Our Lord, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever
and ever. Amen.
